This pair has a soft peach color with intense schiller. The schiller in Oregon sunstone comes from copper platelets suspended within the feldspar, and when it's this pronounced it moves visibly across the stone as the viewing angle shifts.

Oregon sunstone is one of the few gem feldspars with a documented American origin, and material from the Ponderosa Mine in particular is known for its copper-derived schiller - an optical phenomenon called aventurescence - that separates it from sunstones found elsewhere in the world. Designers are drawn to it for that play of light, and the range of colors it comes in, from near-colorless to deep red-orange, gives it real versatility. Feldspar has perfect cleavage in two directions, so setting and any stone work should be approached with care - avoid ultrasonics, and be thoughtful about bezel versus prong choices.
