This lot includes three very pale peach oval Oregon Sunstones with a flat back and rose cut top. The stones are large and mostly clear with a touch of peach hand schiller.

Oregon Sunstone is one of the few gem feldspars with a United States origin, coming from deposits in the high desert of eastern Oregon, and many stones from this source contain copper inclusions that produce a schiller effect - a metallic glint that shifts with the light. The pale peach color in these stones sits at the softer end of the Oregon Sunstone range, which runs from near-colorless through peach and pink into deep red and bicolor combinations. Feldspar has perfect cleavage in two directions, so setting and any stone work should be approached with care, and ultrasonic cleaning is not recommended.
