Oregon Sunstone is one of the few feldspar gemstones native to the United States, found in the high desert of Lake County, Oregon. What sets it apart is schiller - a metallic optical effect caused by copper platelets suspended within the stone - which can shift and shimmer as the stone moves, and the color range runs from pale champagne through peach, pink, and into deep red-green bicolor material. Lace Agate, with its flowing banded or swirling patterns, is a reliable cabochon material that gives designers strong visual movement and a soft, translucent quality; both feldspar and agate are durable enough for most jewelry applications, though agate benefits from protection against sharp impacts.
