This lot of three Oregon Sunstones brings together a matched set with rich red color across all three stones - an oval at 9x7mm, a 6mm round, and a 7mm round - giving a designer real flexibility to work with complementary shapes in a single cohesive palette. The color throughout is rich red, consistent from stone to stone, which is genuinely uncommon in Oregon Sunstone and makes a coordinated multi-stone design far more achievable. All three are cut as cabochons, which suits the material well and lets that depth of color speak clearly.
Oregon Sunstone is a labradorite feldspar native to Harney County, Oregon, and it is the only feldspar in North America with a significant gem-quality production - a detail that carries real meaning for designers working with American-origin materials. What sets it apart is schiller, a metallic glitter caused by copper platelets within the stone, though in deeply saturated red material the color itself tends to take center stage. Feldspar has perfect cleavage in two directions, so setting should be done with care - bezel settings are generally preferred over aggressive prong pressure.
All three stones are untreated. The rich red color is entirely natural, with no heat, irradiation, or coating of any kind involved.
