Gem silica is a silica-rich, chalcedony-based material colored by chrysocolla, and the blue-green tones it produces are some of the most saturated you will find in the quartz family - the sea foam range in particular has a translucency that catches light beautifully in a cab. Confetti chrysocolla is a naturally occurring mix of chrysocolla with inclusions of other copper minerals like malachite, giving each stone a one-of-a-kind patterned character that appeals to designers looking for organic, earthy movement in a stone. Both materials are relatively soft and porous compared to quartz - avoid ultrasonics, steam, and prolonged exposure to chemicals when setting or cleaning.
