Confetti Chalcedony is a translucent to semi-opaque chalcedony from Indonesia that gets its character from included minerals - in this case Chrysocolla, Malachite, and Native Copper - suspended within the silica matrix in patterns that vary stone to stone. Because the inclusions are the point, each cab reads differently in a finished piece, which makes this material well-suited for one-of-a-kind work where the stone itself sets the design direction. Malachite and Native Copper can be sensitive to acids and harsh chemicals, so designers should keep that in mind when selecting settings and advising end clients on care.
