Oregon Sunstone is a plagioclase feldspar (labradorite) found almost exclusively in the high desert of eastern Oregon, and the Ponderosa Mine is one of the few sources producing gem-quality material with natural copper platelets responsible for the aventurescence known as schiller - a phenomenon that sets this variety apart from all other feldspars and from most colored stones on the market. The copper inclusions are unique to Oregon material, and red-to-peach saturated stones with visible schiller represent a small fraction of what the deposit produces, making them meaningfully harder to source than the pale yellows that dominate the market. Because the copper content drives both the warm color saturation and the schiller, these two properties are directly linked - more color typically signals more metallic phenomenon, which is exactly what you see here.
