Lovely lot of 4mm round Oregon sunstones in various colors. These stones have a particularly large girdle so care is needed when setting. The stones were purchased directly from mine owners in Oregon, USA so I am confident and (you can be too) that they are pure in their origin, natural and untreated. You will receive all seven stones shown in the picture.

Oregon Sunstone is one of the few gem-quality feldspars native to the United States, found in the high desert of Lake County, Oregon, and its color - ranging from pale champagne to deep red - comes from copper inclusions rather than the iron that colors most other feldspars. Those same copper platelets are responsible for the schiller, an internal metallic shimmer that shifts as the stone moves. Feldspar has two directions of perfect cleavage, so setters and bench jewelers should avoid hard pressure, ultrasonics, and steam cleaning.
